The RCB Cares Sports Development Programme

An inclusive, high-performance sporting ecosystem across Karnataka, built with three partner organisations.

Executive summary

The RCB Cares Sports Development Programme builds inclusive, high-performance sporting ecosystems in Karnataka through three partner organisations. In FY 2025–26, the programme supported 71 athletes across athletics, shooting, and hockey — while reaching 1,200+ individuals from underserved communities.

The year was defined by system-building: sports science integration, performance monitoring, and infrastructure upgrades created a more data-driven athlete development environment. Grassroots screening expanded across 60+ villages, and structured school hockey programmes widened participation.

Together, these efforts advanced both high-performance outcomes and inclusive access — the dual mandate at the core of the programme.

The story: Access to elite rehabilitation expertise abroad was out of reach for an athlete recovering from injury.

The GSF impact: RCB Cares supported travel to the UK to work with therapist Gordon Bosworth, one of the best in the world, on a structured recovery programme.

The result: Steady week-on-week strength gains and continued progress in training, with recovery on track.
