Chief Minister's Athlete Coaching and Empowerment Scheme

High-performance athlete development for Arunachal Pradesh, built with the state government.

Executive summary

CM ACES is a high-performance athlete development programme, implemented in collaboration with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, to create structured pathways for emerging sporting talent from the state — spanning training, competition exposure, athlete management, and sports science.

In FY 2025–26, the programme supported 30 athletes across 9 disciplines. Athletes secured podium finishes at national events including the Inter-Services Weightlifting Championship, Senior National Taekwondo Championships, and National Karate Championships, as well as international competitions such as the Egypt Para Badminton International.

The programme's sports science ecosystem expanded to include physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, nutrition, and sports psychology, with dedicated Athlete Managers ensuring consistent monitoring throughout the year.

The story: One of Arunachal Pradesh's promising para-sport athletes, his path to elite competition was held back by limited access to structured training, rehabilitation, and competition exposure.

The GSF impact: Physiotherapy, strength & conditioning, and rehabilitation at specialist centres built his physical foundation, alongside nutrition guidance, equipment support, and an Athlete Manager handling travel and logistics.

The result: Gold at the North East Para Sports Meet, then a Bronze at the Egypt Para Badminton International in Cairo — the first international medal won by an athlete supported under the programme.
